I think Kevin said to be careful as that's drug country! 40.132511, -124.184926 2 strips one on the north and one on the south of the river What an incredible spot! Re: How does one get an ifr clearance from a uncharted strip What do I consider acceptable... it depends. I won't fly IMC in a normally-aspirated single engine piston unless the cloud bases are above the terrain. There might be a scenario where I'd overfly some mountains in the east, but out west the elevations are just too high for me to fly IFR.

Re: Long lost/uncharted Oregon airstrips! Here is a cool strip in the coast range I have flown over many times, its on a hill top just north of the town of Summit. its 1000' long and one way up hill to the east, an they appear to be doing some ag work out of it. Either way I've always wanted to land but don't know who to ask!

Re: long lost/uncharted/unknown Oregon airstrips... I accidently posted the same thing twice when I intended to edit. Oppps. So here I will post the old Anderson's Airport in Grand Ronde Ore. It was on the Seattle Sectional and is (was) located just West of the Casino. And SE of Wandering Sprit RV park on hwy18. On the South side is Andy Riggs rd.
